Along with diet and other treatment regimens, yoga practice had been proven beneficial to regulating your thyroid.
Here are some Asanas (poses) that should help with your thyroid:
- Sarvangasana (shoulder stand)
- Matsyasana (fish pose)
- Halasana (plow pose).
I recommend going into Matsyasana after Sarvangasana and then returning to Sarvagasana and then going into Halasana (plow). Practice Ujayii breath during each pose and stay in each posture for at least 5 cycles of breath.
Sarvangasana puts pressure on the gland and this helps stimulate its function, improving circulation and squeezing out stagnant secretions. You can also incorporate any backbending asanas as they are also beneficial in stimulating and opening that area of your body.
A Pranayama (breathing) technique for the thyroid that I mentioned earlier is Ujayii. This breathing technique has relaxing and stimulating effects due to the stimulation of the reflex pathways within the throat region.
