I made this sangria for Thanksgiving & it was a huge hit. To quote my husband’s aunt, it was “the best sangria EVER!.” So I figured I’d share!
I originally found this recipe on Pinterest & it’s from the blog kirantarun.com. To make for a larger group I increased the cider & wine amounts in the recipe & decided to leave out the dried figs. I prefer sangria to be more winey & less sugary or sweet tasting. This is a perfectly festive sangria to add to your holiday gatherings.
For my version of this recipe I used:
3 large honeycrisp apples, sliced
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 bottle (4 cups) of Cabernet Savignon
1 bottle of cider (1 quart)
4 whole cinnamon sticks
1/2 tbsp whole cloves
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Mix it all together & allow to steep overnight. Add champagne to glass when serving.
